Who Are We?

We are a family of two parents, two children, a Goldendoodle dog and a tabby cat living together in harmony on beautiful Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. 

About Our Company:

The anticipation of the birth of our first child initiated us into the wild and expansive world of baby product.  Of all the "must have"s we were given / demonstrated / coerced into buying, the only true "must have" turned out to be our baby sling.  But, at 5'10" and 6'3" it wasn't long before the dimensions of our carrier became limitations for me and my husband, and upon further scrutiny the craftsmanship just wasn't what I would have liked.  More than comfortable with my place at a sewing machine, I decided I'd fix my frustrations by creating my own sling.  With my high-quality prototype in constant use it wasn't long before my baby-toting friends were placing orders, then someone at the park, and at baby group... and a business was born.  Now, customers across Canada, the USA and in Europe are enjoying the quality and freedom of their BambiniBags Baby Slings!

In 2007 we began to discover some obscure but amazing businesses that offered organic & fair trade toys or products.  We decided to incorporate these items into a new, expanded version of our business that was retail-based while still manufacturing and distributing our baby slings.  Our new business was met with overwhelming praise and interest but as the following year progressed and as we delved into the amazing and challenging world of homeschooling we came to realize that the time we needed to invest in this new version of our business contradicted our family values.  In 2009 we made the decision to return to that which had been working so well for us and narrowed our focus back to BambiniBags.

It is our profound wish that every person walking this earth would do as much as they could to tread lightly.  With this in mind, our business practices always strive to help, not harm, this beautiful planet and the people who call it home.  This involves re-using and recycling as much as possible, working with and supporting local businesses and organizations, offering our products or participation for fund-raising to assist earth-minded causes, and encouraging the family and community bonds that will make the next generation of earth's citizens as secure, empathetic and conscious as possible. 
We also actively offset the carbon emissions generated by product shipment.  Not having a physical store location makes a significantly smaller impact than brick-and-mortar retail locations but to go further for our planet, we sponsor tree planting through Tree Canada.  More trees = more CO2 converted to Oxygen.  That's just good science.

The road to change can be traveled with momentous leaps or with small steps; the important thing is to make the journey.  Thank you for supporting home business, green business and the way to a sustainable future!
