In the tradition of our own family's needs giving way to new facets of our business, in 2006 we began producing the BambiniBags Doll Sling. At the same time that our daughter began imitating the other parenting behaviours in her life, she began trying to use one of my slings to carry her special bear. The afternoon of the second attempt ended in me calculating the proportions to fit her size, sitting down at my sewing machine and another popular item was added to our inventory! Plain and simple, a doll sling is a wonderful and cherished toy. We have seen children come up with as many (if not more!) uses for their slings as babywearing adults do! But there are some other benefits that seem to come along with this particular imagination toy that really make it special: When a child becomes a big brother or sister, a doll sling is a WONDERFUL accessory to assist with sibling bonding! Older siblings delight in being able to imitate by carrying a baby doll or bear in their own sling. Having this outlet can ease jealousy and create a bonding experience for parent and older child too! Safety and Care Guidelines for Doll Slings: * spot clean slings with warm water * machine wash warm & hang to dry or tumble dry (as with all fibres, machine drying reduces life of the fabric) * NEVER carry a live baby (or cat or rabbit or any living creature) in a doll sling or allow a child to do so * NEVER use your child's doll sling in place of a safety restraint or while in a car seat * NEVER leave your child playing unsupervised while using the doll sling * Doll slings are recommended for children ages 3 and up. |
